A NATURAL BORN STORYTELLER
Alistair Trapnell is a singer/songwriter, actor and writer living on Wurundjeri land.
He has been acting, singing and playing the piano from a young age.
In 2019, Alistair released his debut album All My Consideration. A previous EP, Introducing an Emancipation, was released in 2016. He has also starred in and directed 7 music videos to date.
As an actor, Alistair has had many roles in film, TV and on stage. For his performance in Confetti by Flashlight Theatre Company, he won Best Male in a Supporting Role at The Mount Players 2019 One Act Play Festival and Best Male Actor at the Seymour 2019 One Act Play Festival. He was also nominated for Highly Commended Performance in a One Act Play at the 2018 Lyrebird Awards for his performance in Brooklyn by Flashlight Theatre Co.
In 2012, Alistair completed the Foundation in Music Theatre diploma at the Victorian College of the Arts. The following year he studied abroad at the Point Blank Music School in London. Upon his return, Alistair began a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University majoring in Theatre and Literary Studies. Throughout his bachelor, Alistair won numerous awards, including the award for Best First Year Student in Performance and Context, a Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, and the Clive Probyn Prize for Best Third Year Student in Literary Studies.
In 2018, Alistair was accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
Alistair completed a Master of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing at The University of Melbourne in 2021, and currently works for a Melbourne-based publisher.
In all things, Alistair considers himself a storyteller and hopes to connect with and inspire audiences through his art.
